Application

For an applicant to be considered for admission, the materials listed below must be submitted through the Graduate School online application. To ensure that no materials are missing, applicants should periodically check the status of their application online. Application may be made to only two degree programs at a time. The application fee is $65 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents and $80 for international applicants. Application fees are non-refundable.

All applicants, unless otherwise noted in this catalog, must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution at the time of initial enrollment. In addition, the following minimum requirements must be met:

Degree-Seeking Applicants

Application Deadlines

Most programs have established application deadlines. Please check program websites for details. In the absence of a posted deadline, applications should be completed at least six weeks before the desired date of registration. International applicants should complete their application as early possible to allow time for the student visa application process. Deadlines for submitting applications are subject to change.

Application Limits

An applicant may apply to only two programs at a time. The application to each program will be considered separately.

Program Enrollment Limits

A student may pursue up to three graduate degree programs at a time. Students enrolled in one graduate degree program may pursue a maximum of two certificates concurrently. Students enrolled in two graduate degree programs may pursue one certificate concurrently. See Degree Requirements for additional information.

Individuals enrolled as non-degree students may pursue no more than three certificate programs simultaneously.

Alabama Residency Status

Immunizations

New Tuscaloosa campus students who were born after January 1957 are required to provide proof of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) and other diseases before being officially enrolled at The University of Alabama. For students without proof of all required immunizations, the Student Health Center may block registration.

Colleges and Schools
